first step is the Divemaster course, training
as a dive guide. Buddha View offers unique divemaster programmes with
traineeships gaining experience in all facets of the dive industry and
scheduled theory, positioning and problem solving workshops with Course
Director Mark Soworka. Then on to Assistant Instructor and IDC (Instructor
Development Course) to qualify as a dive instructor. Buddha View
has maintained the highest success rates on Koh Tao IDCs for close to
a decade. We were the first to introduce post-IDC MSDT
Internships on Koh Tao creating experienced,
employable instructors. We do know that our best advertising is you
going out and getting a good job in the dive industry, so we have a
strong committment to job placement.
All dive professional training includes seminars on Marine
Resource Management and Reef Ecology. As dive professionals it is
important that you have a good understanding of how the reef works and
what practices you can encourage to maintain healthy reefs. We also
work closely with C-PAD, a non-profit environmental organisation based
in the U.S. and Thailand, offering training to university groups and
dive professionals in environmental reserach of the reefs around
Koh tao. Buddha View IDC Resort is the only
dive resort incorporating this training into our dive professional courses.
